Earrings マルコム・トッド (Malcom Todd)

タイトルの「イヤリング（Earrings）」は実際のそれではなく何か他のものを表すメタファーですが，私は相手に対する主人公の気持ちだと思います。
The title, "Earrings" is not actual ones but a metaphor for something else.  I'd take it as narrator's feelings for the second person.

（余談）
この「イヤリング」を主人公の相手に対する気持ち以外のものだととらえる人もいて，そちらの解釈では「virginity」だということになっています。

確かに大変説得力のある解釈ですが「virginity」は一度失ったらそれで終わりなので「earringS」と複数形になっているところが引っかかります。

・・・人によっては再生可能なのでしょうか？
