男女間の不平等というものは，第二次世界大戦後においては，ヨーロッパではもはや存在せず，それ以外の場所だけの問題であると考えていましたが，最近それが全くの誤解であることに気が付きました。例えば，イギリスでは1976年になるまで，女性のサラリーは男性の半分だったようです。
I believed inequality between men and women didn't exist in Europe after the WWII and was only seen in other part of the world.  Recently I learned I was completely wrong.  In Britain, for example, it's said women were paid half as much a salary as their counterparts before 1976.

（余談）

この曲は70年代のものですが，今の「ME TOO」運動にも通ずるものがあり，逆に言えば，今でも通用するあたりにこの問題の根の深さがあるような気がします。
