A Forest ザ・キュア (The Cure)

この曲について子どもの頃に森で迷った経験について歌ったものだと最初は説明していたものの，Robert Smithは後にその説明を変えています。
Despite his original explanation that the song is based upon an experience he had as a child where he got lost in the woods, Robert Smith changed it later.

（余談）

個人的には「あの子」は主人公の抱える「問題／悩み」のメタファーであるように思われます。

それはともかく，Robert Smithが2004年にRecord Collectorに語ったところによると，彼らの「Jumping Someone Else’s Train」が出来た時，レイベルFiction Recordの発売元のPolydorが「これだよこれ！シングルのトップ10入りはカタい」と太鼓判を押したものの，結果は鳴かず飛ばず。これに対してこの曲は「シングルになる曲とは思えん」と言われたにもかかわらずヒットしたそうで，彼曰く「Polydorは全然わかってなかった」ようです。
