ただの脱走を大脱走にするものは何でしょうか？個人的にはそれが困難であればあるほど「大」がつくと思われます。例えば退屈なパーティから抜け出すのはただの脱走ですが，釈放前に拘置所や刑務所から抜け出すのは「大」脱走でしょう。
What makes an ordinary escape a great escape?  The harder it seems, the more it can enjoy the adjective, I think.  For example, when you get out of a boring party, it's just an escape.  If you get out of a jail or a prison before finishing your term, it would be a Great escape.
