この曲のタイトルはオパライト（Opalite）であってオパール（Opal）という本物の宝石ではありません。オパライトはオパールに似ておりオパールのような輝きを放つ人工のガラスです。

（余談）

オパールは天然のものですがオパライトは人工のガラスであり，幸せは自分の力で選び取れるというのがこの曲のメッセージなのだとか。

・・・しかし人工のガラスであるということは裏を返せば「量産が可能」ということではないでしょうか？
