「あいつのナイフで傷ついた，その思い出が蘇えるから，どうしてもあの頃と同じ気持ちに戻れない (Her knife edges waving, To keep from feeling the same thing)」という下り。
実際に相手にナイフを振り回されたわけではないと思うものの，「彼女だと思っていた相手から包丁で脅されて別れた」という知り合いもいるので，単なるメタファーだと言い切ることはできません。
・・・確かにそれなら「どうしてもあの頃と同じ気持ちに戻れない」のも無理からぬところでしょう。
